Hii, i'm Frances and i play the flute. I am also a part of an orchestra (mostly strings plus me and two clarinets) and i wanted to ask, what are your favourite little things about playing in an orchestra?

Mine is the little clap that our conductor gives us after we finish a concert before she turns to the audience and bows. And one more - the bond formed between musicians who make silly faces at each other during rehearsals (aka me and the drums guy)

Hey Frances @reservedLemon3164, lovely to meet you :) The flute is such a lovely instrument and playing in an orchestra sounds amazing! I've only ever played in an orchestra once or twice as Clarinet 4 or something and had the most basic parts haha but I find it amazing how all the instruments come together to make a beautiful sound

(unlike Tom's one-cat band haha)

hii i play violin in an orchestra rn too! it's my first time playing in an adult amateur orchestra and i'm the youngest person there lmao but really great for talking to and interacting with people i otherwise wouldn't have met! not to mention playing with people who are all older and better than me really motivates me to get better (i spend a lot of the rehearsals being lost and trying to catch up lmao) xx

The feeling of performing well at a concert after all the rehearsals we'd been through knowing we nailed it is one of the best feelings.  Seeing the emotions of our conductor and how proud she is and the audience's reaction.
