Conquering avoidance
Hi, I am currently dealing with generalized anxiety, I am currently working with a psychiatrist and a counselor, but only every two weeks .I have realized through talking to a doctor that I am avoiding doing things I normally like to do and interacting with people. Any words of support or things that have worked for you to take the steps to stop this?

i too have had a past of avoidance when i am going through things.... i rationalize to myself well maybe friend are too busy or not right now i will go do this later ...............which becomes not today then not tomorrow ..
my only fix for me is to just do it .... like it or not i get up and force myself into doing anything i put off or avoided and 9.8 times out of 10 was glad i did and all went smooth.... the what ifs i worried about or talked myself into did not happen .... self talk is a big issue and beyond positive talk......... knowing when negative self thoughts are creeping up and stopping before they get going is the best way i have change my avoidance issue.
