Why Practice Mindfulness?

Hey all,

I have just been reading up about mindfulness and wanted to share some interesting benefits of practicing mindfulness in your everyday life. Being present in the here and now and focusing awareness on positivity does sound great but the health wellness benefits are really huge.

- It is good for our bodies: studies show regular mindfulness practise actually boosts the immune system

- It is great for our minds: increasing postivity and decreasing stress and anxiety

- It actually changes our brains in a good way increasing the grey matter

- It helps with memory and focus

- It fosters compassion to ourselves and others

- It enhances relationships- mindfulness training actually helps improve couples interactions

- It reduces behaviour problems in schools

- Mindful eating helps reduce eating disorders and obesity problems

And this stuff is all backed up by empirical evidence. Crazy right?
