"For me, building self-esteem was learning what self-esteem was in the first place. It was unlearning what I had learned about myself . I went back to self-school and learned all about me."

Hello Community!smileyI do hope each of you are as best as you can be. Today we are going to talk on Coping skills on Self Esteem Toolbox. Yep a toolbox as we all need that very special box filled with all the things that will help us with empowering our self esteem.

First what is self esteem? Self-esteem is how we value and perceive ourselves. It's based on our opinions and beliefs about ourselves, which can sometimes feel really difficult to change.

Self Esteem can affect many things like: value yourself as a person, able to make decisions and assert yourself, recognise your strengths and positives, feel able to try new or difficult things, show kindness towards yourself, move past mistakes without blaming yourself unfairly, take the time you need for yourself, believe you matter and, are good enough, believe you deserve happiness.sad

Self Esteem can affect so many important things in our lives. We need our Toolbox handy. What is this toolbox thing ? This can be a bag of things, a simple sheet of paper with positive things to coach yourself with, a favorite snack. This toolbox can hold anything you like to help you. It is something so handy that when you are feeling low- you can reach out to something soothing or some simple skills.

Discussion:

1. How do you desribe what Self-Esteem is?

2. What kinds of things do you have in your "toolbox" to help yourself?

3. Is there any positive affirmations that you tell yourself?

2. What kinds of things do you have in your "toolbox" to help yourself? I have my memories, access to knowledge through books and the internet, and the reassurance that I can handle tough situations due to past experience, to help myself, in my "toolbox".

3. Is there any positive affirmations that you tell yourself? I tell myself that I am smart, strong, capable, worthy, and loved as positive affirmations.

- I currently am working on my toolbox. The main thing in it right now are positive affirmations, they come in handy a lot.

3. Is there any positive affirmations that you tell yourself?

1. For me self esteem is knowing that we too are capable of doing and deserving great things in life, at the same time being aware that neither us nor anyone else is perfect.

2. My tools would be honesty, smart work and a little bit of rock music.

3 . Some day I'll be big enough so you can't hit me, and all you're ever gonna be is mean

1. How do you desribe what Self-Esteem is? Complicated. It's a very complicated . . . Like a roller-coaster up and down. I'm better when others lift me up. I'm better when I van write and busy.

When can talk to my friends or write, I am completely deflated.

I have health problems, can't have a job for long, have issues with having kids, I've have been in extreme situations and all effect my self esteem.

2. What kinds of things do you have in your "toolbox" to help yourself?

Music playlist

Chocolate

Journal with color pen

Sketch pad

Colored pencils

Color pages

Stuffed animals

3. Is there any positive affirmations that you tell yourself?

I am creative.

I am strong.

I am pretty.

I am a good person.

1. How do you desribe what Self-Esteem is?

Having confidence in yourself, capabilites and beliefs. Knowing what your opinions are and not afraid of disagreement from people about what your values should be acording to them.

2. What kinds of things do you have in your "toolbox" to help yourself?

A wrench (lol)

3. Is there any positive affirmations that you tell yourself?

This moment right now is not life threating and thus allowing for it to be an opportunity to do something to move in a direction I would like to go.

1) I see self esteem as confidence. The ability to do things without worrying what others will say.

2) deep breathing, talking to someone, positive thinking

3) "yolo"

1. How do you desribe what Self-Esteem is?

Self esteem is the energy which boosts our willingness to do anything. Self esteem helps us to understand that it's not only success which describes us, but also our failures from which we learn something new and never give up on our goals.

2. What kinds of things do you have in your "toolbox" to help yourself?

Their are many things but one thing which i like the most is "learning something new".

3. Is there any positive affirmations that you tell yourself?

Always believe your possibilities, don't ever give up :)

1. How do you desribe what Self-Esteem is?

I would describe it as being fair twords yourself. Maybe even more than fair because having a healthy self esteem should help you love yourself. It's being confident that you are enough. It's knowing you can do what you set your mind to. At least that's my opinion.

2. What kinds of things do you have in your "toolbox" to help yourself?

I have a couple of pictures and things I've written to remind me if certain times. I also have some encouraging things written and my favorite book.

3. Is there any positive affirmations that you tell yourself?

Well here's how my self pep talks usually go.

"You are freaking fantastic and nobody can tell you otherwise. You can do anything you want to and everyone can watch because you are beautiful inside and out. You may not be perfect but that's ok because nobody is and your imperfections are perfect too.You can be better or you can even be worse and that'll be ok. Cuz you're *insert my real name here* and you're pretty dang awesome." You're welcome for that rampage 😂.

1. How do you desribe what Self-Esteem is?

I would describe it as how I view myself...like looking in the mirror

2. What kinds of things do you have in your "toolbox" to help yourself?

I struggle with feeling like I'm enough to be honest but a positive mindset helps

3. Is there any positive affirmations that you tell yourself?

I recently read the phrase "Imprefectly perfect" and I am working on telling myself this every day

1. How do you desribe what Self-Esteem is?

It's a way of knowing and loving myself. I can think of the bad things, but I don't forget about the good things that make me ME.

2. What kinds of things do you have in your "toolbox" to help yourself?

Some upbeat songs, postcards that found me through postcrossing, meditation, reading.

3. Is there any positive affirmations that you tell yourself?

I can do it!
