Mixed orientation relationships - Adivce

I'm hoping to connect with a woman that has had a successful mixed orientation relationship with a bi man. As a bi guy, I am always struggling to be open/honest with perspective partners, and I am thinking this has hindered my ability to connect on an emotional level. I'd love to hear how couples can overcome this problem.
