A lesbian and a Christian

KulaPitts March 9th, 2021

I have known all my life that I am a lesbian. The problem is I do not know if my Christian family will accept who I truly am. I try to flirt with boys as a way to conceal it from them but it just proves how gay I am. I am in turmoil on how to come out to my family. It's like a dirty little secret that I have been keeping.

Hi. I am also a lesbian and a Catholic. I’m not saying you have to believe this, but I don’t think God hated any of his people, and he made us the way we are. I think you could try to explain this to your family. And I understand the internal conflict you are facing. I hope that all goes well for you 💜

Know that no where in the bible actually condemns homosexual, despite what people might tell you about leviticus. Also know that coming out is not necessary, especially if it might put you in an unsafe position, I personally never came out to my parents in any official capacity but that doesn’t mean that i’m not gay.

I am a lesbian to very strict Christian parents! I get you must be feeling so overwhelmed right now! We are all here for you❤️

When I came out to my mom she told me she already knew and she told me I should pray more. I guess hoping that I'd pray the gay away. But I have never been attracted to a guy and I doubt praying would suddenly make me into guys. I feel you.

@KulaPitts Hey! I'm lesbian and christian too.

my advice would be to not even think about coming out unless you're fully independent. your coming out could go well, but it could also be bad yk.. so just make sure you're safe and have a place to go to in case anything happens.

maybe bring up something lgbt related (don't involve yourself in the narrative at all) and see their reaction? it'll help you judge the situation
