Hurtful comments

I feel like the things that hurt me aren't actually valid. The kids in my class sometimes say things that I interpret as homophobic, like it being horrible that some frogs are gay, but are they actually homophobic? I am genderfluid and sometimes my mama asks what gender I am 'feeling' today or earlier she commented on a picture saying that I looked really cute back then, when I was still a girl.

Am I right to get hurt over these things? Or am I just being too sensitive?

@BookishBlue13

Sometimes people are so shady....like the frog comment. I think those people think that they are being clever in not being outright in their homophobic views, but I would feel hurt by those kinds of comments too. It is not nice and it is not necessary. Don't let anyone make you doubt your journey. Keep being you. You are enough just the way you are.

@BookishBlue13 No you are not being too sensitive ^-^ It's understandable to feel hurt by such comments especially when they are coming from the people we know but what I have noticed is that some people are not aware that what they are saying might be hurtful to us so it's a good thing to let them know that you find such comments upsetting.

I hope people around you be more considerate and understanding <3 (:
