I want to come out but how do I do it?

So I'm moving to another country but from what I know, it's a very religious one. I never really hid my sexuality from my friends but I feel like i should because of the country I'm moving to. And the fact that I still go to school might mean that if I come out I might suffer from bullying from my classmates. What should I do?

@DarkMarieN Hi there. Firstly I'm sorry you even need to worry about coming out safely. No-one can tell you if you should come out, or how to do it as you know yourself best. However, I would consider whether it is something you can do whilst keeping yourself safe? Similarly, if you're worried about bullying. I know it also would be hard to hide that part of your identity but I just worry about your safety. Could you maybe do some research on the country you're moving to and it's attitudes to LGBTQ+ folx? That might give you an idea :)

It can be scary moving to a new place an not knowing how people will treat us. Social and societal attitudes toward the LGBTQ+ community can definitely be something to be aware of. I have a few questions to explore if you'd like:
- What would not coming out in this new place mean for you? What would change?
- Would you be comfortable taking time to get to know people and test the waters before deciding if you will or will not come out to others?
- If you were to chooses to come out, what are things you could do to stay safe?
I hope you will what works best for you and be able to enjoy this new country and experience.
