We are truly lucky to have a global community, rich in background and culture. In order to nurture our diverse community, we should each make a conscious effort to understand each other. The more we know, the more mindful we can be of one another's differences.

A diverse team can bring in more support , more new and creative ideas , a great chance to get to know about different cultures and people , opportunity to increase our personal skillsets while meeting new people and learning about how do they do certain things etc ..
How can we be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups?
1. Be mindful of timezones
2. Be inclusive and respectful of everyone
3. Be open to learning about new cultures and diverse opinions and not be stereotypical
4. Be tolerant and patient with people around, not everyone has the same knowledge as us , and it's always good to be calm while supporting
5. Asking questions for clarifications in case of any misunderstanding and an open communication overall to avoid any issues .
6. Be a part of other's celebrations and special days , there's nothing better than to be a part of someone's happiness
7. Believe in the power of Unity in Diversity , because as we all join hands for a good cause, it will be fruitful to all , being an enriching experience for the entire team .

@Heather225 Advantages of a diverse team would be including cultures from around the world and reaching out to them, time zone differences so that we may support anyone at all times, learning new cultures, and greater skills coming from others.
We can be respectful of different cultures by being welcoming to everyone, not using stereotypes or favoritism, being mindful, considering their time zones.

Some advantages for a diverse team would be: 1) time zone differences, you have a lot of different time zones meaning that people can support throughout the day as there is enough timezones to cover it all.
2) different cultures, we can all learn new things about different places and their way of doing things.
3) the different cultures can help to support someone as the person may understand what they meant.

We can be respectful to different cultures on 7 Cups by being welcoming, friendly to everyone, non-judgemental, not showing any favoritism and being understanding of one another.

An advantage of a diverse team is that there are many different minds and backgrounds which means different answers, ideas, and solutions. Creating an endless possibility of taking action!

We can accept that other people may have different religions and beliefs. Also, that they may have different opinions that are completely different!

We should look at people without their stereotypes to judge them as an individual, be respectful of personal beliefs, be mindful of schedules and availability, consider timezones. We also need to use simpler language and be forgiving for the tone of language used by second language learners.

Rise above the stereotypes
Sadly we live in a world where certain countries and cultures are associated with certain traits. These stereotypes are often outdated and do not apply to all individuals belonging to the specific culture/country.
Be respectful of individual beliefs
Cultural differences can cause us to support different causes and have contradicting beliefs. Know that it is okay for someone to think differently. If there exists a contradiction in terms of individual beliefs when it comes to a task, work together to reach a mutual agreement or delegate the task to someone who feels comfortable doing so. For example person A may be uncomfortable hosting a Christmas themed event, then you can always find person B who is comfortable with the idea or reconsider the theme.
Be mindful of schedules and availability
People from different cultures have different celebrations. This means some of us celebrate Christmas while others may celebrate Diwali or Eid. This calls for consideration of schedule, be mindful of when your team member needs a break and who can support the team and pitch in for the person on break. Bonus points for wishing them a happy celebration day!
Consider time zones
When scheduling anything time-bound consider the differences in time zones. Your evening can be someone’s early morning. Be mindful of these differences when you are scheduling a meeting or a chat. Always provide different time and day options to the team and go with what works for the majority. You can also consider forum communication to rise above the time zone differences in a big team. Try different things and see what works for your team.

Some advantages of a diverse team is the presence of many different perspecitve which leads to innovation, being able to reach people who we cannot reach physically with different time zones, providing opportunities to learn about different cultures and practices, and having a wide range of different skills available which can lead to high creativy and high productivity. One way we can be respectful of different cultures on 7 Cups is being aware that everyone is very, very different from each other so thus have very different perspectives. By always keeping this to our heart we can always be careful to how we speak and act to one another.
