Writing is my friend

CrystalKiwi8717 May 31st, 2020

Growing up my mom told me that whenever I had thoughts or feelings that troubled me and I couldn't share, I could write them a piece of paper. So I started writing, good things and bad things. And this was freeing in a way I would never expect.

Through the years I stopped writing so often. But life still gets tough and thoughts get overwhelming. So even though I don't hold a pen and this is not paper, I think it will do the job!

You are welcome to comment or share your own thoughts. We can treasure them or let them go forever. Just write your heart out ๐Ÿ’•

Well-written. I fully agree with you, writing has a therapeutic value in various ways through self-reflection, acknowledging thoughts and feelings, letting go of unhelpful thinking, clearing the mind, and others. I find creative writing is an outlet for me to write for pleasure without concern about how it will sound initially. Writing itself may illuminate self-discovery and some useful things that were not known before. At the same time, I feel it is a good use of energy even if I choose not to write often.

Thank you for this post. :)

@CrystalKiwi8717 , Your mom got you started on an amazing habit. Thumbs up to your mom. Writing , keeping a diary, journaling.... they are all so useful and beneficial in helping us self reflect, relieving stress, organising our thoughts and being creative too. So glad to hear how you address writing as a friend.

Thanks for the comment. My thoughts can get really messy but the act of writing feels like tidying up! It's a great tool indeed ๐Ÿ˜Š
