My 7cups Journey
For years, I have been battling my own demons but, usually, I refuse to talk about them with most people. I can talk about some of them with my fiance but I tend to bottle up my emotions. I know, it's totally unhealthy to do that but it's been my method for years. I bottle them up, have a good cry, and then pick up the pieces and keep going. This time, I felt more empty and just upset. I didn't know where it was coming from or why I was feeling that way. So, when I was on Tumblr, I came across one of their PSAs on the 'depression' tag for 7cups, so I checked it out.
I tried to connect to a listener. While I was connecting, I started working on my path. I ended up wanting to go to sleep since I had to be up early for work the next day. I never spoke to a listener that night. The next day, I logged in and started looking into becoming a listener. I started on my listening path and have been able to help some people.
7 cups has been able to help me greatly even if I have done more listening than talking. I am on step 17 on my listener path and I feel like some of the things that I have learned from this site has helped me even for work! I hope that I can continue along this path and be able to help myself and hopefully help other people as well.

Hey there Catie!
I love your story, I'm really happy to hear that listening to people has helped you as much as talking could! Sometimes helping people can really boost your self-esteem knowing you're making a difference. It also helps when you have a connection with this member so I really am beaming with happiness for you this evening <3
I hope you don't mind but i'd like to share my 7 cups story back with you!
I joined 7 cups just under a month ago looking for support as I was feeling very low at the prospect of my therapist going away for 4 weeks over the Christmas period. I honestly thought I couldn't cope. After speaking to a few listeners I decided to take the active listening course myself.
After about a week of 1 on 1 chatting with members I decided to apply for the Internship program here! I'm currently transitioning back into work after around a year of being out of it due to my depression. This volunteer experience is a great way for me to get back into work slowly 10 hours a week and gain some extra skills before going into work.
I love it her and I think it really helps my depression and anxiety. I feel like i'm learning from other listeners, members and even sometimes myself.
Thank you for sharing your story with me and letting me share mine with you, I wish you a wonderful evening.
Love, Constant <3

Thank you so much for sharing your story with me! I am glad that 7cups has been able to help you as well. It makes me really happy to know that this site exists and that there are ways that, if need be, you can use it to help further yourself in life. There are certifications that you can get from this site for being a listener which will show employers and other people your volunteer work.
Anyway, thank you so much for sharing your story with me!
