Have been alone almost a week

Breezy2013 July 11th, 2021

My husband left almost a week ago to do some work on our rental property out of state. He originally said he was only going to be gone two days, but the tenant has been causing problems, and every time my husband tries to say he is finished the guy renting from us (he is a "friend" of my husband from before our marriage, not a good one, that's why I have a friend in parentheses) finds yet another thing for him to fix. This individual (the friend) was going to buy my house but that has kind of turned into a mess, since he gave us what I consider a lowball offer, especially after all the work my husband did on that place for him. I honestly don't like the guy, and I'm getting more resentful the longer he is gone since I have mental health issues, and have trouble being alone. I am almost wanting to evict him and sell the house to a stranger, it would probably be less trouble.

@Breezy2013- OH my, your story touched me. My hubby is going to leave to work on our rental property - again. Fortunately the tenant had to move out for a major repair required. I understand how hard it is when tenant want various things fixed or replaced to their standards. Looking for some time alone- but at the same time- he takes care of a ton of chores here at home. Take care.

@barncat
My husband is back home but this problem tenant already is asking him to come back down there to do more repairs. My husband thinks he is trying to get what he can done on the house before the guy buys it from us. I am just going to need to be firm and enforce boundaries because this guy acts like it is a pleasure for me to know him and should be grateful he is living in my house but he acts demanding, entitled, and runs my husband ragged (He is a cancer survivor) every time the least little thing goes wrong. He moved there not being fully truthful, under the pretense that he would act as a caretaker, but cannot do repairs at all and just demands my husband drive down there 10 hours round trip when things break down there. It's getting really old.

@Breezy2013- wow- what a committment for a rental property. Good luck on keeping a tenant ,who has lots of demands ,
in a reality check. There are landlord/ tenant laws on what your responsibilities are for a property. Sounds like they are asking for more than is required. Fortunately our property is fairly close by- but with the ferry system overloaded this time of year it has been a trial to come and go. My husband finally left to take care of some major problems. Take care.
