Environmental Impacts of Veganism

hiya my loves!

I've been vegan for quite a while now - after being vegetarian my whole life I finally realised how much being vegan minimalises your carbon footprint; and how important it is to consider veganism in your day to day life.

Today however, I'll simply be discussing the environmental impacts of veganism.

To start with, raising cattle in the dairy and meat industry causes 53% of CO2 emissions, with only 13% coming from ALL transports. that's all cars, trucks, lorries, boats, and planes combined.

This is because cattle produce methane, and methane creates CO2. Because of the amount of cattle being produced - it's now the leading cause of CO2 emissions.

secondly, each day someone decides to go vegan, they save all this:

yes 1100 gallons of water

yes45lbs of grain

yes30 sq.ft of forest

yes20lbs of CO2

yes1 animals life

if all transportation, oil, gas and all fossil fuels were stopped being used this second, we would still rise 2 c (all we need to rise before severe flooding, famine and even a climate war) by the year 2030. This is simply because of the meat and dairy industry.

did you know:

surprise 1 single burger uses enough water to supply you with 2 months worth of showers

surprisedomestic use of fossil fuels only contributes by 5% of CO2 emissions, whereas 55% comes from animal agricultural

surprisewhen humans first walked the earth, free living animals earned 99% of the biomass and humans only 1%. 10,000 years later (only a fraction of time) humans, and the animals we own as property, own 98% of the biomass - only leaving free living animals 2% of this earth. We have literally robbed the earth and it's resources from animals here before us - for pure human greed.

In my opinion, the no.1 best way to save the environment and reduce global warming is by going vegan

well, that's my opinion said. How about you? What's your opinion on veganism and how do you think is the best way to reduce global is?

I love this! Aiming to live a healthy lifestyle for both you and the environment is truly amazing. I definitely do try to eat vegeatarian meals when I have the option, but going vegan would definitely be something to be in my bucket list for the future! Thank you for sharing smiley

@peacefulHug92 right but 1lb of vanilla is 16.000 gallons of water to make. Just because it's vegan doesn't make it great for resource use. It's important to be eco too in vegan food choices.
