my uncle died near the beginning of the school year. he died after taking drugs, he died then came back alive and died again and never woke up. i felt so horrible, he never really knew me, i played piano a couple times for him and he loved it but i never invited him to any of my concerts, i feel guilty. i was so selfish the night he died. i was so happy that my parents were out for a long time because it meant i got to talk to my girlfriend more and the next day when i heard i felt so horrible... idk im not as upset about it as i was before but it still doesnt feel too good.

Were you aware that your uncle was using drugs.... i think many of us who lose someone this type of way feel that maybe someway if we included them in more things or engaged with them .... what they would not take drugs........

It is normal to mourn a life cut short especially as with substance abuse it often is self inflicted....but in the end you are not to blame in any way and most likely his issues with drugs was something he fought and lost .

i think in a way i was aware i just denied it. i couldnt be 100% sure anyway though because he didn't take good care of his diabetes so he was already unhealthy and no one really knew how much time he had left. i knew that he smoked but i didnt know he was doing other stuff.

@idk2000 it's not your fault, it's noones fault. We can't see when anyone's time is up. So we can't prepare for these things. But we can learn from them, you now know how fast a life can be taken from us, so live and love the best you can. Let everyone no you love them, while you have the time ❤❤

I'm sorry about your uncle sweetie 😞 drugs are a terrible thing😢 hugs you tightly ❤

I agree with what the others said.  It is not your fault.  People who are addicted to drugs are fighting a battle that we don’t have control over.  No matter how much we try to include them in our lives it’s not going to fix them.  And sadly, some people succumb to their addiction and don’t make it.  It doesn’t mean we are to blame.

im So very sorry for the loss of your uncle.  I hope that in time you will realize that you couldn’t have predicted what was going to happen.
