The Beauty of Grief

❤️ The grief feels infinite and everlasting because that's how your love was. Grief lasts forever because love does too.

I read this somewhere -

"Grief is love's souvenir. It's our proof that we once loved. Grief is the receipt we wave in the air that says to the world: Look! love was once mine. I loved well. Here is my proof that I paid the price." ❤️

I agree to the point that grief can be a proof of the feelings we had being real, the connection we lost being valuable. It can be the sign of respect to someone or something that's been already gone.

But I see no beauty in the grief.

There are too many people diving into grief as an escape from living.

Grief can too easily turn into an excuse for not trying to start anew and live a better life.

Experiencing grief is a natural phase, but there comes a time when we have to go on. To let someone free and let him or her to be not responsible for our failures or unhappiness.

I am accepting the grief. But not going into a lifelong friendship with it.

@jacek73 Where did they say that it's okay to hold on to grief and use it as an excuse for your failures? They just want people to accept that grieving is natural and how it is connected to the beautiful feelings like love. Instead of seeing grief as a taboo or purely upsetting it should be accepted and acknowledged in the same way other "beautiful" feelings are. Try to get the message that's given in the post instead of being all negative about it, please.

Not in a moment I was against accepting and acknowledging grief. I was just against "romanticising" it too much.
