What is a compliment that has always stuck with you?
What's something nice someone has said to you, that you'll always remember?
Hey @victoriousblue17
What a lovely thread, I once did a course with people I had never met before and we had an assessment. Some kind person passed me a note saying 'You can do this' and I've kept it ever since!
What about you?
@LunaHere Aww that's really cute!
When I was like 8 years old, this girl told me that I was a good listener. I've always remembered that.
A funny one, I've always been self-conscious of my rather shapeless legs. But many years ago the guy I had a crush on at the time told me out of the blue that I had very nice legs. It was a weird compliment given that they are ugly...but it made me pretty happy at the time.
@LunaHere so beautiful! i can imagine how special the note must have felt.
hello ! @victoriousblue17
a compliment i would never forget was from my bestfriend and she told me "Ur funny, pretty, sometimes in a goofy mood, happy, and u easily entered my heart.. What is there not to like" and it has been stuck on my mind ever since..
At my job customers sometimes say things like "you're always so nice" or "you should get a raise; there's not a lot of people like you". And my boss thanks me just for doing my job just about every time he sees me, but that might just be because of bad experiences he has with other employees. I sort of freeze up and feel really awkward when this kind of stuff happens but ultimately I'm really grateful. I always fear I'm not functioning well enough but when these sorts of things happen it really make me feel fulfilled and useful in my job, even if it is a dead end night shift gas station job lol.

When they say that I am strong and amazing despite the problems I deal with my life.

I have two that came to mind.
♥️ One time, when I was texting back and forth with my gal pal bestie prior to revealing to her that I battle depression, I hinted at my mental illness with, “I’m losing my awesomeness…” and she IMMEDIATELY replied with, “Oh my gosh Autumn I think you’re one of the few who will never lose their awesomeness”. That reassured me so much.
♥️ After finishing up my college art history class, I received a personal message from my professor. She told me, “You are an excellent student who will certainly go far in life. Above and beyond your smarts, you are also thoughtful and kind- a true gift in the world.” I was bewildered reading her words. This had occurred during 2020, so the class had been online, and I felt like I hadn’t really had my personality shine through in the lessons and discussions- the most I can think of is that I always made sure to thank her at the end of each interaction. I suppose that meant a lot to her, much in how her note meant and still means a lot to me.
An interaction with an eight-year-old boy as a tired summer camp counselor making pancakes
Sarcastic me: this one [pancake] is a bit...atypical
Him: what does that mean?
Me: like...different
Him: you're atypical
Me:was that a compliment?
Him: what does that mean?
Me: like a nice thing to say about someone
Him: yeah if so, it was a compliment
A while ago, someone told me that my eyes looked beautiful. Then a year or so later, someone completely unrelated said the same thing to me. It made me feel better about myself, and I don’t think I’ll soon forget it.
@victoriousblue17 a few days ago I was talking to my sister and suddenly out of nowhere she said I was really beautiful. That made me really happy because she is person who knows me the most
@victoriousblue17 When I was 10 years old, my teacher told me that I would be a great something when I grew up.😀
