Nervous About Therapy

SmileToBrightenYourDay November 28th, 2015

Hi, I struggle with lots of things, but right now it is anxiety about going to see a counselor on Monday. I have relapsed in my self harm and I am tired of hating myself (I started struggling with self harm, depression, and suicidal ideation five or six years ago). But I am anxious about getting help. Maybe she'll think the only way to manage my potential Major Depressive Disorder is medicine?! I don't want to feel like this...

Hey, I know that starting therapy is really scary I've been there and remember being so anxious the first few times! But just try to remember that they are there to help you and listen to you without judgment! Also although they may advise you go to a doctor their job is talking therapies mainly so if you don't want to talk about medication then you won't have to! I really hope therapy helps you and that you feel better soon!
