It's okay to not be okay
We live in a world where being depressed is a condition of inedequacy. The inability to cope with the world is a sign of weakness and impotence.
It's crazy,right?
How dare you show your sadness out in the open?
Just get over it.
Stop being such a child.
Grow up and deal with it like an adult!
What do you mean you don't know why you're anxious?
You don't need a therapist. You need a vacation.
You're making me uncomfortable.Why can't you just be happy?
Well, I'm sorry for their inability to comrehend an illness that comes in a form they're not comfortable with.
You might have bottled up your feelings,thoughts and emotions to put them at ease but what about you? It's time to start thinking about yourself.
You're allowed to feel pain.
You're allowed to cry.
You don't need my permission for that. You don't need anybody to give you permission to feel what you're feeling. Anybody but yourself.
It's okay to let it out sometimes. You need it.
There's nothing wrong with you if you want get help. That doesn't make you weak. You're standing up to fight your illness.
Strength that springs from this dark place shows fortitude only a few can display. You've done that.
It's okay to not be okay. It's okay to choose you.
