Who here is not too big a fan of new year's celebrations?

pros:

Lots of people get a day off on the first day of the year

It doesn’t require cooking a turkey or buying presents

It skips the formalities and goes straight to the partying 😂

cons:

people over drink

people make resolutions they never keep

people shoot guns into the air

people drive after drinking

fireworks…because you know we have to have yet another firework laden celebration as if we haven’t had enough throughout the year

the coming year is going to magically be better? Right…..

@ladyofborders I've never actually been to a party, and I don't drink. So news years party's are not for me. However why not party, celebrate everything you can, have fun, make memories. And cheers! To a new year ❤❤🎈🎈

2025 surprised me here at 7 Cups. I realized it began when I heard the cannonade by my window. I came to a conclusion I was missing the taste of some semi-sweet sparking wine or cider, but I forgot to buy one. Good, because there is no use in drinking alone, I believe 😉 

Big deal. Just some digits changing on the clock. Nothing to be too concerned about 😉 

I've inadvertently did a small poll yesterday among my co-exhausted co-workers (being at work till 6 p.m.), and it seemed the majority of them was not going anywhere, just having some nice time with their spouses and children at home. I was too tired even to join a concert of an overadvertised pop star just a few steps away from my place.

@ladyofborders my friends have parents who own party plots or farmhouses for such occasions, where they invite family and friends over for new years, my family doesn't own one and has no tradition for new years, we all just sleep through the new years lol 

Anybody else ?
