For those who have been diagnosed with ASD as adults, has it changed your plans of having children? I'm 31, female, and it's only in the past few years that I've slowly been realising that I may have autism. I'm waiting to get an appointment to get diagnosed, but I've been thinking what it could mean for me if I do get the diagnosis. I've always been on the fence about having kids. My cousin has a 14 year old son who is autistic, and it has severely affected her life. I also have a cousin who has ADHD, and has some symptoms of autism. There is also another one of my relatives on my mother's side who is on the spectrum. All these relatives are on my mother's side of the family. I don't know what all these mean for my chances of having an autistic child if I ever do become a mother.

@inthequeue Do your unborn child a favour and don't ever have one. They'll suffer forever. Adopt a child or something if you want it that bad. There's plenty of orphans in the world.
