Seeking long-term listener (anxiety, depression)
Hello!
I'm looking for someone who'd be willing to chat with me a few times a week about managing depression and anxiety, as well as just dealing with general day-to-day struggles. I'm a nineteen-year-old, and would appreciate talking with someone within a few years of my age since they might better empathize with the stresses of college life and the challenges of being a suddenly-independent young adult, and am hoping to find a listener who's fine with both helping me to reach my goals for self improvement and, on occasion, just to be there when I need to vent (I will do my absolute best to be constructive and positive, but some days I may just need a proverbial shoulder to cry on). Also, while this isn't that important, it'd be great to find someone who's alright with chatting about things besides than the aforementioned anxiety, depression, and stress on those occasional days when I just need a distraction and a friend.
Hey @DorkyDoodles!
Have you seen the forum for best practices into finding and having a long-term listener yet?
I'll leave you the link here in case you havent.
I think you will have better success finding someone to connect with if you use the chat rather than the forum. That way you can actually know the listener, how they work and if they are what you're looking for.
Good luck with your search!

I just came across your post and I don't know if you've found a listener who works for you yet but I'd be happy to be your listener if you're still looking for one <3 I'm a college student too and may be able to give you some insights into some of what you're struggling with so if you'd like to talk just shoot me a message!
