Name your Favorite Books of wisdom
Jim rhons 7 strategies for wealth.
One of my favorites, i listen to Jim probably the most, watch his videos and try to follow his disciplines. (Try lol)
Brian Tracey’s eat that frog. A very pragmatic way of accomplishing the basics, being simple and diligent. Pretty good book. But Brian gives us the impression if we copy successful routines and people we can be of attain what they do. Which is true, but Brian’s acts as if we are robots, our emotions and hinders often get in the way of simply monkey see monkey do. But good book.
Jack Canfields success principles
Similar to Tracey’s eat that frog, Jack uses the same fundamentals of being around only successful people, but somewhat different, but uses way more others as analogies in a comic way, or ways that can be too far off a regular modem of a working class manual labor man like myself. But maybe that’s my problem, I seek hard work, which pays almost nothing, compared to our priorities of rent and necessities, have to get into the Jim and Brian route with big money to make big steps. But good read.
Only a few stoics make grade for me that is useful, Favorites gotta be Epictetus, Marcus Aurelius, Pythagorus, Teillus and Seneca I don’t like but I like. lol I think I’ll get more well written ones from Ryan holiday who has them all mapped out and better explained. For to me stoics are by far the most pragmatic ways of living but very slow, no fundamentals on money, managing and budgeting business, only virtuous and principles. Good stuff but I can see how the eastern philosophers Laotzu, Confucius and Gautama and the 27 buddahs were much more fast passed, accomplished more with less brute force and more of a conversing and peaceful manner. But good none the less.
Grand daddy of all books, a must have, your own personal bible, what can I say, more than needed, our compass, our history, our fundamentals, teachings on staying away from woes and get your blessings, facing adversity, sorrow, pain, grief, learning about money, relationships, courtship, nature, everything is all there. My habit is to get a new bible every year, gonna stick with the ones of most merit, kjv, and get Ethiopian orthadox version, along with a Quran for substance and better knowing the dynamics.
Cant stop there, wanna get the Tao te Ching, maybe a little books of business, money management, time management and health stuff. Reading is muscling up on the mind and spirit as working out is to muscling up remedying and improving your body and overall health.
Would like to know which books you all have as favorites and some books that help you improve, be stoic, have a spiritual connection, principles and other means as well. Even with reading a book a week or month, you will improve your soul and how you perceive and do things, like Jim rhon states, what you read is what runs your mental factory, if you watch a lot of TV and junk, your mind will be junk, and not run properly, ever worrying and dreading things outside our control, to Marcus tellius states a room without books is like a body without a soul, and Zig ziglar states poor people have big tvs and small libraries, while rich and wealthy people have small tvs and large libraries. If y’all have some books you think can help, hit us up with a cover of the book and your thoughts on them and how they helped you construct your routines and habits, and improved your life.
Like Jim rhon states, no one man has all the answers, and no one book has all the answers either. So it would be wise to grow your knowledge to gain wisdom, books are our guidelines. Compasses and structure for our spirits, our soul the conductor, like alot of Buddhist say, what you think you become.
Keep reading, keep working towards your goals and don’t forget to live a little, there is a ying and Yang to Taoist, a righteous and wicked in the Bible, a good and evil in most religions, so it’s good to learn both, life is not just sunshine and to roses, there is a dark end to it, but thankfully for these books and their foundational groups via churches, buddhist temples, business classes, college and schooling, gyms and career paths. We can save a lot of time, grief and mistakes if we heed to their teachings and practice, be disciplined and obedient to their laws, statues and commandments. We can live a worthwhile life, a prosperous life and meaningful one.
Yessir.
Goal is to have a personal library or atleast a few shelves stacked with books, business, philosophies, spiritual/bible. Industrial heavy equipment, Tao te Ching. Not just having them, practicing and embodying them.
Stability, structure and growth of the mind.
Where there is no struggle there is no progress.
Man is to become divine by realizing the divine. Idols or temples, or churches or books, are only the supports, the help of his spiritual childhood.
-Swami Vivekananda
That one is very useful and a good reminder. Like Jim rhon says, how long should you try? Until. How long would you work it? Until it works, how long would you give a baby to learn to walk? Until. Similar to how we should be using our resources and be resourceful with them.
How much of your prayers have been answered? None? Well how much times did you actually pray in a church for it with fellowship and pastors, and done what the Bible has asked. None? Than start the prayer process the right way. Until.
How much of your priorities have been done for your job or career choice in the ladder of success? None? Than get books on how to get it done, go to the classes until it gets done. Until.
Didn’t hit your ideal or healthy body weight or stature? How much times did you get in the gym a week? None, than get in their and work it, until you get your gains. Until.
What one man can do another can do. If others can cover come distress and adversity, so can i and so can we.
Nikes incredible slogan. Just do it.
Meditate on it, envision it, capture it.
Own it, grow it, master it.
Pray for it, become prayer, be prayer.
