In Need Of Tips
Hey there, I'm struggling with my parents. I don't want to give details, but I need some tips or tricks to help calm the storm after rough fights. I'm still learning and growing, so some of the fights are caused by my behavior. Apparently the parents are always right and can never do any wrongs in their eyes. They bring up everything I've done wrong when I make a mistake. It's really starting to bring me down.
My little brother asked why I don't hang out with the family anymore. I can't tell him that I'm hurt, since he's so young. I need some tips, or something. Please.
Have you tried putting yourself in their shoes.
Looking at yourself critically and asking what advic would I give me,
You do it with your sibling
Sometimes parents reactions are right, not always, but I'm sure your loved, and I hope they want what's best for you ..
@candlewaxkate in my opinion you should be balanced in the way you behave or take their remarks , for example, if youve done something that made them worried about you in some sort of way try to be understandble so they know that youre grown enough to percieve the good and the bad , but you also have to let them know that they dont have to drain you in order for you to understand them and they dont have to put you in the wrong because youre a teenager , peaceful communication coming from both sides is key trust me , hope that helped <3
Tysm!💕
@candlewaxkate anytime here if you need to talk <3
It might be a typical phase that teenager start to challenge , question their parents and value friend’s opinion more. It is equally frustrate for both sides. Parents need to loosen up however , they understand as a teenager you want to be independent however they also worry you are not mature enough to make sound decisions. Conflict/ augment is also a form of communication ( maybe not an effective communication) however whenever you both calm down, try to talk through for better understanding, tell them how you would like be treated if it happens again, most importantly knowing they love you and tell them you love them. As a parent of a teen, I care my daughter so much and I always want her know , regardless what happens, I am here for her and she can always count on me. I think you parents have the same feeling for you. :)
