Stomach Problems in Recovery
Hi guys,
I am really trying hard to recover. However, whenever I start to increase my food amounts, I start to have a lot of stomach issues. My therapist says this is a normal part of recovery. Did anyone else experience this? How did you keep eating through the discomfort? I just feel discouraged. Thanks
@rachaelfroggy this isn't completely related as i just have a rly upsettable tummy, but peppermint oil (i get enteric coated) and digestive enzymes help food not bother yr tum so much in the short term, and probiotics / yogurt helps in the long term. :x'
ginger root is also rly great at soothing tums & it seems helps with recovery. doesn't taste the best, but tea made out of the roots (can just chop them and soak them in hot water), or less plesantly simply chewing it, will calm your tummy & at the same time should stimulate your appetite a bit. can pick it up at the grocery store. :3
but if you do only one thing, try peppermint oil capsules. they're just so easy to take. i poked around and did a bit of research with how it applies to what you're struggling with, and it seems like there are several people using it to treat the same pain as you, but be aware that it helps eliminate hunger pangs, so be sure to keep up your eating. it shouldn't have too much of an effect on your appetite so long as they're enteric coated, because it won't release until it's out of yr tum & then your intestines get all cold & minty :3
i hope this doesn't count as advice, stay strong. <3
@bunnypants I also second the recommendation for peppermint oil!! Whatever works for you and minimizes your pain is what you should stick to, so long as you are eating
@rachaelfroggy I personally bought digestive enzymes because eating any amount of food, no matter how small, was agonizing for me. They should be available on Amazon if you're inclined to check them out. Basically, they help break down your food when your stomach isn't producing enough stomach acid to do so already and help cultivate a healthy gut
@rachaelfroggy For me, any type of mint or ginger sweet helped me. Even just focussing on the strong flavour would ease some of the discomfort that was caused by anxiety.
@rachaelfroggy yeah I've experienced this - sometimes I'd get nauseous (especially after breakfast for some reason) or a headache, or just general discomfort. so it's completely normal, it's just your body readjusting to a normal diet again, and it doesn't last for that long :) take care! xxx
@majesticCaramel42 oh and also I'd recommend the essential oil called pettigrain - just rub it on ur stomach and put some peppermint around your head and it should help. you can do it! :D

I can totally relate to how challenging stomach issues can be during recovery. It’s so important to listen to your body and seek solutions that work for you. If you’re looking for ways to address skin or fat concerns around the stomach area during recovery, Morpheus 8 stomach treatments could be a helpful option. This non-invasive procedure uses radiofrequency to tighten and smooth the skin, which can be beneficial if you're dealing with loose skin after weight changes. Always consult with your healthcare provider to ensure it's a good fit for your recovery process. Wishing you all the best in your journey!
Hello Afternoon or good evening to you. I aftet overeating as an impatient two months ago came out heavier from the food they gave me. But since I have been unhealthily dieting like two meals out of my day to loose weight. Then over eatting at night or early am. What do you recommend me doing to get back into 3 square meals a day? Everyone can reply. Also aloneness and lack of society can be a reason for a lack of eatting. Depression too.
