I've never experienced having an eating disorder as well but based from my friend's experience, they tend to withdraw themselves from social gatherings because they're conscious about their body image and the food that they're gonna eat.

I've never experienced eating disorder myself but I do know someone close to me for whom it is extremely difficult to eat in public places like restuarants, parties or any social gathering. They get highly conscious and withdraw themselves when required to eat in an open place with people around.

@Fiercelyalive

Eating in public places is incredibly difficult! It's so difficult because eating has become so social, and for someone with an eating disorder that can be overwhelming and lead to behaviors.

@Fiercelyalive, yeah, that definately is one of the biggest struggles of an eating disorder. You push yourself away from people and things.

@colourfulSpring22

I understand, sometimes you push people away only to realize you need their support. You try to protect yourself and others from your stuggles but this cycle gets harder.

I don't know if I have ED or not, but I always tend to get in fights with my friends because "I am not eating". So I would say that in someways, I lost good relationships with my dearest friends frown

@Totheskyandbeyond, ofcourse it counts. I agree with what you said. It's really difficult, since an ED tried to isolate you from anyone and everyone. ❤️
