Do I have a problem?

So lately I've been obsessing over my weight. I am skinny and desperately want to gain weight. It's all I think about, how much calories I need to consume to add on weight and forcing myself to eat even when I'm stuffed or just not hungry. I don't feel that I am doing anything wrong, although my mom becomes upset when she sees me being that way, so I wonder.

If anything in your life feels like it's taking over, that certainly COULD be a problem, but it's hard to say with what you shared how much of a problem you're dealing with. What does your gut say? Are your thoughts about your weight interfering with your daily life? With school or work? With personal relationships? If so, then yes, it sounds very stressful and problematic for you. I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you can consider reaching out to someone to talk more, whether it be your mom, a trusted counselor or doctor, someone on 7Cups, or even a therapist.
