Kids in Africa!

I, of course, present my deepest sympathies and apologies for the kids starving in Africa, and by nature have nothing against them. In fact, if I get one, I would make him eat until he is smiling and hugging me. <3

But, this phrase we get to hear as anorexics, which people think is motivational for us really triggers me into my eating disorder, and it is..."The kids in Africa are starving, and you don't eat by choice!"

I mean, if not many, there is one difference. If we present food to the sufferers in Africa, they'll eat to their heart's contempt, and on the other hand, if you don't present me any food at all, I'll be the happiest person in the person in the world. So, it's not a choice.

We have an ED voice screaming at us every second, about what to eat, what not to eat, how much to eat when to eat, and how much to work out. It's not a choice, it's a mental illness. If we are luckier to have food, others are luckier to have an appetite, something we don't have. So please don't compare our condition with theirs. It truly hurts and can be fatal.

Please add your thoughts below. Thank you for reading!

Thank you for this. It makes me feel less bad about myself. People that dont struggle with eating disorders should read this.
