Is it my fault?

So on instagram i follow a guy who is through anorexia. Me and him spoke to each and said that if either of us need to talk we can talk to each other. So yesterday i sent him a message on instagram saying " i have some news to tell you". " im losing weight". Then he messaged me saying " why would you tell me that". Your being blocked". Then I messaged him" sorry and i didnt mean it like that". So is it my fault ?
