Trauma Caused Injuries!

Hey all!

As a part of zombie Monday, this is was a very very dead forum so I am here to help add some life!

So today I am talking about trauma and injury with disabilities!

There are many different forms of trauma and how they can be lead to disabilities! For me, my rape caused my disability. The result of the rape left me with a disability called centralized pain .I will make an AMA for it, due to the fact it is so unheard about. The reason I bring this up is because so many people have suffered through some trauma resulted injuries.

Here is an article with more specific statistics from the World Health Organization (WHO): https://www.who.int/violence_injury_prevention/disability/en/

So, my point of discussion is:

Have you or someone you know suffered with a trauma caused injury?

How has that affected them?

Why do you think it is not heard about enough?

What are your thoughts on this little post?

Cannot wait to hear back from you lovely warriors!

With love and positivity,

Brooke

While I've luckily never gone through a trauma-caused injury, my mother had minor brain damage following a motorcycle wreck. It mostly affected her eyesight--she had to go to a vision therapist. I think since we live in a progressive time then there is luckily more awareness surrounding trauma-caused injuries! However, they aren't as common as other disabilities that people are born with or develop not from trauma. I like your post, thank you for sharing!

@krispykitty12

I have a traumatic brain injury from a car accident when I was 6.

I have DID, along with sleepwalking and sensitivity to sunlight, migraines, stunted growth and development and a few others.

As a result I don't go outside alot Especially during the day, I have to sleep in a safety bed so I don't go anywhere when I sleepwalk. And I absolutely refuse to get in a vechile willingly.

I think this is a great thread.

Hang tough stay pawsome ur friend 🔥

I have suffered form trauma. Started with domestic violence and than married off to an abusive family. I struggle daily. With flashbacks triggers hyperventilation disassociation. It’s hard cause being divorcee need to work to pay bills it is going to work that helps me be distracted from reality. Now with SSDI I am only allowed to work certain amount of hours and it’s not enough to pay bills.
