Listener in Deaf community
Hi Everyone!
My username is hoppingpen and I am hard-of-hearing but identify with the Deaf community! I just wanted to say that if you are having trouble finding a sympathetic listener who is hearing, message me and I would be more than happy to chat!

I'm hearing impaired and wear hearing aids bilaterally. I was diagnosed at 4 years old and I was told it was natural (although there is some debate about it - long story). I don't sign (used to fluently in preschool) and I don't like to identify with the deaf community. However, I'm glad to know I'm not the only hearing impaired Listener here!

I think id be a difficult case. Lost my hearing via abuse.
I'm about 70% deaf in my right ear. I never thought lip reading was so hard or helpful until I learned. I am open to talk too

Actually I'm Deaf and my husband is hard of hearing wears Cochlear Implanted.
I wonder that I hope will having Deaf communiy for this 7cups, because who will understand Hard of Hearing/Deaf Culture and values too :)

I am full Deaf and ASL. Happy to make friends and to know I am not the only Deafie on here.

I love that you are HoH but feel at home in the deaf community. From my understanding, there are barriers between the 2 communities, and as a HoH person, I too, would like to move between the communities. Do you have any advice for me? I am taking ASL and I wear hearing aids and my loss is moderate to severe.
