Osteoarthritis

I suffer from osteoarthritis in my right knee and I am starting to have pain in the left one. I this is my neck and lower back for many years and that pain is not as bad. I have had different types of injections and they only gave small amount of relief. I no longer have a job or insurance and can not afford a specialist. My PCP prescribes me [Edited for medication names - SilentSerenityy] 50 mg I can take up to 4 times daily (I have been taking this for over 10 years for my neck and lower back) a long with 800 mg of [Edited for medication names - SilentSerenityy] 3 times daily. This helps my neck and back, but it just dulls the pain slightly in my knee. I am so sick of taking pills. I have lost weight and it has not helped. Tried different types of knee braces. Just going to the grocery store to shop leaves me in agony and knee swells. I was always very active. I can no longer take walks and had to give up horseback riding due to the position my knee is in while riding. Needless to say it has made my depression worse. I am 57 years old, but look much younger. However I feel much older. I have other posts with 7 Cups of Tea due to other problems in my life. Just wish all the mental and physical pain would go away. I am so sorry for anyone else going through this.

Having chronic conditions can really make you feel aged. Sorry to hear about your pain - both physical and mental.

It's really frustrating to give up activities you enjoy. Have you tried to incorporate new activities that aren't physically demanding? That's something that has helped me cope with the loss of other things I enjoyed.

Not sure what that would be.

It can really vary depending on what you find to be difficult as well as what you enjoy.

Discovering a new genre of music, organizing a local support group, learning about a new subject, doing puzzles/activity books.

I'll start a new topic on this, I think many of us could use some new ideas as well as offer up some to others!

Sounds great. I'll be watching for this. Thank you.
