I don't know how to cope better on my bad days when physically I feel well and my emotions have tanked too. Anyone have tips?

Whenever I feel bad emotionally and/or physically, I try to take it slower. I know that's not really too enlightening but when my body is in pain, in one form or another I respect it by relaxing. It's such a simple step but it can really help when you don't feel well. When I try to push myself to do things I don't want to do or when I try to "act normal", I end up breaking down. When I'm taking it slow, I'll try to do things that I enjoy, like painting or just being quiet in my room for a few mins. If you're more on the extroverted side, perhaps talking to others and expressing your pain to them could help. Think back to times when you felt like this, was there anything that helped you cope?

Acknowledging your pain and struggles is a good step towards feeling better. I know I have a hard time telling others when I don't feel well, so I commend you for doing so.

I don't know if this helped at all but I hope you feel better soon! heart

@TrueArrow Thanks!

On my bad days I'm really not doing much at all unless it's medically related. I think that's what I find hard as my energy levels are often low so I do a fair bit of low energy activties. So when I'm really feel low, it's not like there's much I can take out, I just feel crappier while watching tv or something.

Yeah, I totally agree. When I do things that do not stimulate me intellectually or keep my mind occupied, I get even more depressed. For me, always keeping my mind busy with something helps. It gives me less time to sit and think about everything. That tends to be my greatest struggle when I am depressed. It's a fine line between doing too much and doing too little. The struggle is real, that's for sure!

Hi, I don't know if this helps but one thing I try to do is match activities to the kind of energy I actually have. So if I'm feeling physically well but mentally a little all over the place I try to get some errands or cooking or similar done. If I'm physically not so good but I have a little bit of "brain energy" I try to do a little bit of studying.

@Gozzil And yes there are days when there's no kind of energy available, and it's okay to take the rest you need on those days!
