why dont massage therapists accept healthcare insurance? i would assume its looked at as a luxery not necessary. it sure would help with my back and leg pain.

@ambitioushope1234 This is indeed very unfair. Sometimes physical therapy is necessary for people. Yesterday I had a conversation with my coach about how gym should be covered by health insurance as well. Health and well-being are two things dependent on each other and a neglected well-being will affect overall health sooner or later... The important thing is to prevent things from getting there. So indeed these services should be for provided by an insurance... Your struggles are understood and embraced and we are here for you! @ambitioushope1234 Here it's not covered under the health insurance that' almost everyone is automatically covered by, but the majority of plans including some of the government ones do have coverage for paramedical providers, including registered massage therapists.

A spa relaxation massage is a luxury. A therapeutic massage is medical.I agree, more insurance should include it!

At least here, it's not about the RMTs not accepting insurance, those that meet the requirements do typically offer direct billing. It's more about the insurance plan and what it includes.
