copd
Hi! I dont know if there is a thread on copd or not. I am a 56 yr old dealing with a large variety of diagnosises. I dont know if I will get any better. It has been one thing after another. I am on oxygen and have difficulty breathing with almost no effort. I just started pulmonary rehab which is helpful. Would be nice to find a friend.
@beachlover5008 Hi. My mother has COPD and is on oxygen as well, so I know what you are going through. My mother is 61 years old, and she is currently on the list for a lung transplant. She can only walk a short distance before she has to stop to sit down and catch her breath. If we are going somewhere that will require much walking, then we bring a wheelchair for her to get around in. She's a lovely person, and I worry about her a lot. Please feel free to message me anytime you want to talk.
@Probius Thank you for being willing to help. :-).
@beachlover5008 hi there sweetheart I'm sorry you're going through this. My grandmother has COPD amongst other things. She is actually at hospice level right now. Please feel free to post about COPD here. I moved your topic to the appropriate place. :-)
@DonaldK hi there. sorry to hear about your family member being on hospice. I am/was a hospice nurse. I can give you some tips/ideas/information on hospice. Unfortunately, all that is usually done is the use of morphine and ativan at increasing doses to manage symptoms. hopefully you have a hospice nurse and doc who know what they are doing. prayers and best wishes to you at this difficult time.
