The past

I don't believe I ever really "get over" a past event or person. I just no longer internalize the past. I try to keep the past out of my head. But carry it with me as part of my experiences so that I can move forward. Thoughts?

@FoolsSelf A fair bit of who we are today comes from the past. Even with the bad things though, it can make us better now., than what we were, due to the things we learned.

I realized tonight that I used to matter, make changes that helped improve peoples' lives, when I worked for an NGO in the Republic of Moldova. Minor brain injury and now I fold every time. I guess I'm just in my head tonight. No perspective beyond myself. Two days of fighting against racists for my local friend and for my ex and our children. It's just tiresome. I fought the good fight when I was younger. I made a real difference. Mild brain trauma is not so mild. It's career ending.

@FoolsSelf It must be very hard for you to cope with your past memories. Can you maybe consider getting some psychotherapy which can give you some resources to better cope with your past?
