Severely Depressed

Hello my name is Matthew. I have dealt with depression since I was a teen but the last month has been the worst it has ever been. I have had a pain in my chest for this entire time and it won’t go away. All I can think about are things I regret in my past. I try to have a positive outlook but I’m 30 years old and still living with my parents while working in a low wage job. I’m not suicidal but I just don’t see anything positive in my future. I have no friends so I thought I would reach out to a place like this to see if anyone else has gone through something similar.

@Chestpa1n

Matthew, you have good clarity, I appreciate that. Most of the time what is holding us back is our past. It is imperial to be mindful of the time we live in, present, today. I suggest you practice meditation and gratitude which will help to keep you grounded in reality. Take time to seek what is bothering you deep inside and then try to find out what you can do to heal it. If you want to talk, feel free to PM me. May you stay happy, healthy and blessed <3

Thank you for the reply. It’s difficult to remember the positive aspects of life when I am feeling this way.

@Chestpa1n I'm here if you want to talk, I understand what you mean.

You feel like you shouldn't be unhappy because you had a loving upbringing. Depression comes in all shapes and forms

Thank you for the reply. I guess I have always blamed myself for my depression instead of understanding it as something that happens to me.
