Idk what to name this
Anyone else scared for the future and how much pressure everyone is putting on them to decide their place?
Recently I've had a lot of pressure to choose my career path (which scares the heck out of me since I'm only 13), I really have no clue what I'm good at or enjoy that I could ever turn into a career and my school wants me to know so I can take the appropriate classes to help me, i feel terrible that if i make a mistake with it it'll be stuck to me forever (ik its irrational and nothing from this age lasts but i haven't got that experience yet) and ill be a useless leech to society when I grow up. sorry for ranting I'm just horrible and irrational rn. idk why i put this up anymore.

Yes that is a very young age and your interests will change .....
i think it is counter intuitive for schools / parents who in some cases pressuring kids into decide what path is before the person has a full view of the possibilities.
Why are people already pressuring you to choose at only 13? Like, there's not even really any decisions you could make now for your career path anyways, all of that comes later. No classes at this point will have that much weight for your future career. What's the point of wanting you to choose now? You definitely don't need to know now. You honestly shouldn't even know, you shouldn't know what you're super passionate about or what you're good at yet, you're just at the beginning of figuring it out. You're not horrible or irrational, you're having a very realistic reaction to ridiculous pressures being put on you. You're just a child, it's okay to just...be a child for now. You don't need to think yet about what you'll contribute to society in the future, society is supposed to be supporting YOU right now
The path isn't going to stick with you forever. You can't make a mistake here. If you don't like whatever you select, then you have just learned something that you don't want and you choose something different. Keep going with what your gut suggests. Sometimes that changes and that is just fine. You can do this. @GorgeBrome
How are things going for you now?@GorgeBrome
@bestVase7265 ah its definitely better haha. less pressure but I'm just anticipating this year's choices again lol, I do think I picked right for now :)
That sounds great! @GorgeBrome
