OC Tendencies?

I am very keen on my routines; however, I realized that it somehow affected my capability to adapt. If I don't start the morning the way I planned to, I don't get to do anything the entire day. It is interfering with my life and my responsibilities. Is anyone here experiencing the same thing? Please help!

Routines are very good in life because they give you confort, a sense of safety, predictability and for some of us who tend to need time before being active, having a morning routine is bliss. What if life throws you in the washing machine? You have to travel over timelines, you have to work crazy shifts, you have to travel to a spot without facilities etc. We humans always strived for order when life is a chaos. We don't always win so thencomes the times to adapt, even if we hate it with a vengeance. You you are deprived of your routines, you gritt your teeth, slip a couple of muted swears and go with the flow and do what must be done. Adapt: change your routines to the new situations, find a rputine that best fits your new life conditions. A routine is either built or comes by itself. So in a new situation you may find tgat a routine comes to you by itself or you can create your new one. Everything is hard before it becomes a routine. Some say routine is the end of progress, but I value routines for the good they bring: sense of safety, confort, predictability (avoiding the unknown anxiety). What happens tomorrow? I know how it will begin: with my morning routine.

But the human kind evolved by adapting. You adapt or sometimes improvise or go with the flow or otherwise be miserable and grow depressed.

Always such hard dilemas and questions in life...😊

@freshFlower6438 I understand the importance and benefits of routines, I think that's why I feel such the compulsion to do them. My problem lies with the intense feeling of compulsion to do it right. For example: If I planned to wake up at 7:00am then failed, I won't be able to do anything because I feel bad for failing to wake up at 7:00am, no matter how much I know logically that I should still be able to do the rest of the things I have to do even though I wake up later than that. Another example would be like my shower routine. I normally shampoo, condition my hair, do the face wash, then body wash. If by mistake I didn't do it chornologically (ie I washed my face first), I have to start over. It's hard.
