If someone is having a tough time getting a therapist in person, how would you recommend they go about getting one?

I know it's always been a struggle for me to ask my parents for something like this, it was tough for me to tell them that I was upset and felt as though I could benefit from therapy/having someone to talk to. What is some advice you all would give in someone faced with the same situation?

@NixNixels@NixNixels good question. As a therapist I hear this alot. One thing to do is check with your insurance company to see who is on your panel if you want to go that route. You can also look at psychology today which is a great website to find local therapist. You can also of course consider 7cups therapy. Regardless of how you find a therapist please remember every therapist has different styles and personality so continue to look until you find one you feel open and good about seeing.

@AnnaKateMillerLCSW Thanks for the support! I no longer need a therapist myself but I am trying to make a thread for other members so that way if they were to face the same troubles I did they are able to get a therapist :)
