How do I stop punishing myself?
Hi, I have noticed that I am refraining from eating when I'm hungry, not pursuing a crush, and staying up while my eyes are burning only to wake up after the day has passed.
I do not know why I am punishing myself and I do not know how to stop. can someone help? does someone have theories? have you experienced similar things? thank you
@politerabbit2235 I’m sometimes a night owl. I think it happens when I’m emotionally preoccupied. Emotions and body are related - by definition. You can address both to manage the state of energy in your body (e.g. be able to get a good nights rest and face your day in the best way). So exercise early enough in the day. Get your mind into a relaxed state before bed (this means eat dinner at dinner time, reduce or eliminate screen time before bed) let go of troubles before or when you get in bed because thinking about them won’t help. If your body is hungry when you go to bed you’ll not sleep well and eating just beforehand isn’t great either but probably better than not eating.
