i need help.
i just want to know some symptoms of depression, and if i'm showing them. and if i am depressed (the 7cups test says i am, but i don't really know) then how i can fix it. thank you if you decide to help me, but i understand if you don't.
@lyra21 I'm glad you decided to reach out for help. If you feel like your daily life is being impacted, then it may be a good idea to go get a professional evaluation.
Also, if you search 'depression' on google on your cell, it will pop up a knowledge panel on the right of your screen with an option to 'check if you're depressed.' That will lead you to the PHQ-9 depression screening tool with may be helpful for you.
As always, I recommend following up with a mental health professional, but chatting with listeners here on 7 Cups is always a good option if you need to chat or brainstorm options.
Hope this helps! Stay strong.
Depression and any other mental issues can be tricky, many mental illness share some symptoms, internet tests are not accurate and are not meant as a way for diagnose, its mostly used to give the person a hint, and only professional can say, what mental issue we do have, and they are the most effective way to fight any menatl issue we might have.
Regardless whether you do have depression or not, extra support is always a good idea, and you will find a great support here.
As a depressed person, there are some hints that are used to enhance the mood in general, like, eating healthy ( 3 good healthy meal) sleeping not les than 6 hours and not more than 8 ( it depends on age, I can see you are a teen so that make it from 7-9 hours) sports, spending some time on things you enjoy doing, and socializing
P.s I'm not saying you are depressed or not, just making a general statment
If you're having concern it's best to get a checkup form your GP. It's important to get the correct diagnosis from a licensed practitioner.
@terrytee thank you for your help. i'll look into doing that soon.
@lyra21 No problem!
