Darkness in Diagnosis

A few days ago my psychiatrist diagnosed me with, among other things, severe depression. He also prescribed me anti depressants and I don't know what to think. I don't know anyone else has personal experience with depression or who has taken medication (except for my aunt who had post-natal depression a few years ago). Does this mean I'm crazy, or weird?? I just have no energy anymore and I'm sick of trying...

Hello @mute TheVoice, just wanted to say to you, you are not crazy or wierd, you have an illness. Getting a diagnosis often comes as a shock and although there may be some relief too, it can take a little time to adjust to this. I have been there and know its tough when you are down, have no energy and are tired. And we need medication for a time and to be supported by others.. maybe family or friends or here at 7Cups there are people and resources. So know that you are not alone and please seek the support you need.
