1 Thing A Day!
Hey everyone!I have suffered from depression for many years and have found manyof my own ways totryto feel better and love myself. One of those ways I would like to share with you all :) Something I feel is very beneficialis toevery day just once, saying to yourself one good thing that happened that day. Does not matter how small, it could even be that you had pizza! But thinking positive like this and trying to find good things about each day, can really change your perspectiveon the life you are living and may even make yourself feel a bit better about yourself <3
I agree! I used to write down 7 good thing that happened during the day on sticky notes and stick them on my wall to be reminded of all the little positives! A great idea.
@Brielle224 That's awesome bud! Finding something positive out of what you think is all negative is a great strength and something that truly can change your perspective on life for good. It's wonderful to find positives out of negatives because you can think to yourself "Huh, it really isn't too bad" instead of thinking irrational thoughts and emotions. As a college student going for my Bachelor's in Social Work, I'd like to point out that you are using what we call a strengths perspective. It takes a beautiful soul to find a positive in every negative, and it's a tactic social workers have been using for years. I'm glad more people, not just social workers, are starting to use this method because it truly does make you a more positive and bright person. Keep up the great work! I'm proud of ya and anyone else who finds a method that works for them personally :) Deep breaths, you got this :) Oh, and to make a positive for today, you found the courage and strength to come to 7 Cups and tell part of your story and what works for you :) You're a strong individual with a big heart and an active mind :)
i like it but some times to me that fills like snap out of it get over it. but it is a good thoate glade it works for you.
I try to do this but some days it's so hard to find the good things. I'm inspired by a quote from a very wise man:
"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice-versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant."
