does anyone else ever feel empty like something is missing but not know why??

How do you find out the reason why?

@MikehereforyouUK In my experience, that feeling often comes from looking outside of ourselves for a sense of completion: romance, a job, items. "If I have a true love, I'll feel complete." "If I get that job, I'll be happy." The house, the car, etc. (And of course, depression in general makes you feel like you're "less than", that you aren't good enough as you are.)

If it weren't related to depression, I'd say the only way to find a sense of wholeness is within. And the "how" doesn't really have an easy answer in that respect. Meditation helps sometimes.

@Alia3475 i agree, the reason is unique to everyone, it seems thinking about what i could have and have not got tends to bring that feeling on more.

@MikehereforyouUK it's like you have everything and you have nothing at the same time, something is always missing. And you always miss something that you even dont know why

One thing I have definitely learned is not to compare myself to others, what I could have, or too far into the future. Most of the time I just try to focus on what I am have accomplished, what I have, and what I can accomplish today. Sometimes before bed I even focus on one thing I did or that I was proud of that day and praise myself before I go to bed. Hope this helps and good luck Mike!

I know i often do. I find I will also second guess myself when making big life change choices that are meant to better myself.
