(Need replies!!) need help asking for help

Thestruggle435 November 25th, 2022

I had depression for a while, and it is recently gotten worse. I’ve gotten therapy before and had my parents acted like I was better afterwards. It’s gotten worse and I know I need to ask for help I want to get help but I’m scared to tell my parents because I have siblings who has depression who have hurt themselves and I don’t want my parents to think I’m like that. I don’t know how to tell them dumb and depression is getting worse than I would like to have some help and would really like it if someone could help me find a way to tell them please. I really need help.

@Thestruggle435

It can be a big step asking for help. I understand your hesitation. Especially since you have siblings who have hurt themselves. So, I can understand not wanting to worry your parents. There are always letters, phone calls, or other forms of communicating the message to them. How would you feel the most comfortable telling them? 💜

@Thestruggle435 Maybe try e-mailing them.

I hope this helps some.

It is tough, but it is best to tell your parents sooner rather than later. Depression is a condition that comes and goes. They will want to help. Tell them from the beginning that it isn't a crisis stage, but you are actively working to prevent it from becoming that. They will appreciate it greatly. You aren't causing them pain. You are letting them help you which helps them come to terms with whatever happened before with your siblings. @Thestruggle435

i would agree with another poster to tell them it is not at crisis level ............but is growing and you want to get help early on.

share what you can to let them feel included and tell them you do not want to worry them and appreciated them getting you help before as well.
