Last night was just a normal night for me. This morning was a normal morning with the normal amount of stress for me. While I was struggling with my normal things, people were dying. There’s people that are dying around us and we can sometimes do nothing but turn a blind eye. 

I first saw the news about Liam Payne as I was getting ready to put my phone away. This morning I was able to understand more of the situation. He was found de-d outside a hotel in Argentina and based on what was in his hotel room, he had been dr-nk and high. He probably wasn’t quite aware of what he was doing. He is only one of many who have succumbed to the pressure and hate in this toxic environment. 

Rest in peace Liam, fly high angel, we won’t forget you and your story. We love you and in the words of Noah Kahan, ‘We ain’t angry at you, love. You’re the greatest thing we’ve lost’ 

Those of you who struggle with being replaceable or the thought that no one would miss you or that you would better off de-d, I want to say to all of you; you are loved. you have value. you matter just the way you are right now. I can’t respond to all of you guys but y’all need to hear this. 

You. Are. Loved. 

You would be missed. 

Liam Payne’s son is seven years old. He will never ever get to see his father alive again. Louis, Zayn, Niall, Harry, his mom, his other family members, people who worked with him, and countless others will never get to see their friend and brother or son or nephew (or whatever his relation to them is) again. We will never get more music from him. Those who go to artists’ tours will never get to see him again. 

Whatever little things you do right now, they mean that you would be remembered. The grief that all of us have for this one man, this one person, would be the way your family, friends, and community feels if you do it. 

You can do this. You can get through this day, and the next day, and the next day. You have people who love you just as you are and who want the best for your life. 

If the people you are around right now push you away and make you feel worse, they aren’t the people for you. If they are your family, you aren’t stuck with them forever. The people who love you for who you are and treat you so will be the ones who put in the effort and stay. 

Life is hard. Every single day you will struggle. But life is worth it. Reasons to Stay by Kate Vogel is a good song to remind yourself of this. There’s so many reasons and people for you to stay. Don’t do something because of what someone said that takes you somewhere you don’t want to go. 

I’m guessing that Liam didn’t go into yesterday hoping to d-e. But after a series of choices, he did d-e. Don’t do anything that is going to take you beyond the shore. Because once you push your ship off the shore and get beyond a certain point, you can’t really go back.
