Bottles breaking

Crisisdw August 24th, 2023

Well sorry for a long post if it even turns out to be.

I've had a slight of depression for years, over a decade but I've always been able to tell myself to get over it and do something. I work extra jobs and find hobbies and keep busy so I don't have to think about it. Lately though it's been getting worse, feels like I'm in a dark hole, I've ran off most my friends and only person I can confide in is top young to ever imagining bothering her with such an adult subject. Now I work graveyard and long hours and I'm literally isolated from people most of my time so I decided to lose a little sleep and enjoy people a little, get out and socialize. But the lack of sleep countered most of that and I'm 10x worse than I was before and now I got insomnia. I'm not suicidal as I could never do that to my daughter but I'm feeling empty, like beneath my skin there's nothing left, just a shell that pretends everything's fine, makes everyone else smile but I just feel dead. Didn't want to admit it but today is the worst it's ever been and I don't feel like pretending has been working for me.

@Crisisdw

speaking out even here is a step in the right direction ...... I just started to climb out of one of the worst depressive phase i have ever had ...... was different for me as there were not things i could identify to change. I know it is another hill to climb to find a doctor or therapist but I think when we know it is worse then ever it is time to find someone to help.

I don't know who all he reached out to on here but there was a few different apps on his phone referring to mental health, unfortunately he was a little too proud to ask for help.

He passed away 3 weeks ago thanks to the help of alcohol and a few bad friends, he took some pills while drinking and when he passed out his so called friends just left him. I just wanted to say thank you to anyone who tried to help him and I really wish that if anyone else on here feels like this, please tell someone in real life. The internet is great for a community and all but I lost my brother and no one even had a clue how he felt or that we could have helped.

So so sorry for your loss. That must have been quite a blow to you. It sounds like he was a good person who didn't deserve his pain. I hope that you can find wonderful ways to honor his memory. @Crisisdw

Oh, I’m so sorry. I lost my brother 3 years ago to an overdose. It is such a painful loss, and I’m so sorry that you and your family have to go through this.

@Crisisdw I empathize for your loss. Guess you may be feeling some regret ... Regret that you were not there for your brother. Regret that maybe you could have confided in him and made him feel that he was not alone. That you could have supported each other that way... But now you can't take the pain that it's too late...

Always refuse depression. It is more like a virus that clouds one with negativity, anxiety, and bad thoughts of life. Know that you all are given life to make a difference. Don't think about your intrusive thoughts, or what others think of you just go out and show what you are capable of.

@Crisisdw huggs you tightly ❤ hiding behind a mask trying to keep busy and avoid feelings😞 I do that too. But I don't think it works in the long run. I'm glad you vented here. You don't have to mask yourself here. People care about the real you. Are you on meds? Cause maybe you need different ones or a bit stronger dose. I know it's hard. But your doing so well ❤❤ keep fighting. We are here for you ❤
