@SilverSeastar

I have never understood the purpose of this Love language thing.

I have taken different versions of the test to see and literally nothing comes out as this is MY one.   It would all depend on you mood when taking a so called test. IMO     IF you need to instruct a partner that  "i want/ like / need  x,y,z"    then this person is following a script not being authentic.

People also change if a partner thinks their "language" is this ......but a person has grown and no longer want the same thing ......... how often do they need to readdress this  etc. just curious

Hi, @toughTiger6481

Good thinking! I just read an article about this. The five languages are a fun concept, but not an exact science; research on it is still largely inconclusive. I think we have all five love languages to a degree, and of course they can evolve over time. 😊

@SilverSeastar

Perhaps  this theory was a way for people to speak up to their partners ...................

.to say i need  or want this but in the "love language " idea it takes the pressure off to speak up..... But it could paint you into a corner if that is what you say your primary one  is ...... relationships IMO are much better when we can talk and be honest not play games or take some magazine test.....
