@ouiCherie

  1. I have submitted the title for the article submission.
  2. I faced a bit of difficulty in coming up with the right title/headline for the article
  3. Let's take our time, and we can certainly do it!

Hi, @WeEarth

Yay, well done! I hope your title gets approved soon. I understand coming up with one can be a bit intimidating and challenging at first, but you did it! You should be proud.

Taking our time is good; we wouldn't want to get burnt out. And, yess, you can certainly do it! Thank you for the tips. 🌟

The last section I completed was section 7. Part two is getting into some really interesting things for those of us who love writing. My biggest struggle was a tech problem. When I tried to post my paragraph, it wouldn't let me. So, I had to post a link to the paragraph instead. I would really like to understand what the problem was. I did well on following the guidelines laid out. My advice is a bit of a repeat. But I must say taking notes, still, is one of the most helpful things. Writing things down makes information stick in your mind better. Plus, if you are going to pursue writing content for 7 cups the notes will come in handy when you need a reminder on guidelines, tips and format. It's nice and convenient. We all end of having those moments where we need a reminder on something.Β

Great work for making it to section 7, @ThoughtLight 🌟 It's awesome that you follow the guidelines well.

So sorry to hear about the technical problem. Posting a link to the paragraph is a creative alternative.

I agree with taking notes for convenience and reminders. Thank you for sharing! πŸ’™

  1. Which discussion was the last you completed?
    Number 4
  2. What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
Using Canva and the other new tools lol, took me a while but then it was much easier and I am really proud of myself in what I achieved, thank you!
  3. What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.
βœ…I found myself really interested in the course and looked forwards to my time working on it :)
❌ Keep a copy of all your work and reply posts, I didn't keep the replies I made so I had to reply some more lol! It seems impossible to link to the actual post which is a shame :(

Hi, @CocoaCassie

Great work for making it to Discussion 4. You're going fast!

Oh, I remember I struggled with my first time using Canva as well. I'm glad you quickly got the hang of it. You should be proud, indeed! 🌟

Yayy, I hope you enjoy your process through the courses. πŸ’™

Sorry to hear you had to re-reply. You actually can link to specific posts. I hope these can help:

@SilverSeastarthanks for the tips that is so simple lol. Also, I only tried Canva, do you recommend using/trying the other ones too? Are they any easier etc? Is there a thread about this perhaps?

You're always welcome,Β @CocoaCassie πŸ’™

Another platform I've tried is Adobe Illustrator, but it's way more difficult to master. I think Canva is the easiest and most accessible; it's their whole deal hehe.

  1. Which discussion was the last you completed?
    Number 6
  2. What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
I found it quite hard to write about the pandemic and not something more contemporary really, but the more I thought about it the more the ideas rolled in and then I had too many lol.
Also the ideas for articles and the way the course is structured confuses me the first time I read it so I have slowed my pace considerably until I get to grips. I have also been unwell.

  3. What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.
Learning the expected format is tricky for me as it is different from the format I am used to.

Hi, @CocoaCassie

Yayy, good work for reaching discussion 6!

I'm glad you overcame the challenge and could come up with many ideas. 😊 It's alright to do things at our own pace. I hope you feel better now. πŸ’

There's a learning curve, for sure. It also took me some time to figure out the expected format and follow it.

Well, I have completed the coursework for part two a little ahead of schedule. Submitted my article topic for approval. I completed the participation form and the course quiz. I also submitted my topic for a growth path for one of my practical requirements. This was all several days ago. The first practical is complete. The Time Management Course. I have received my badge and certificate. So, there is nothing much to do until I got those two approvals. I'm curious about what the options are for honors. I would like to be thinking. I struggled at first with the graphic creation again but after fooling around with the program I have actually learned to really enjoy it. I'm so much more confident with the final graphic that the one from Part 1. My biggest piece of advice still is taking notes. And really follow the advice from the beginning to copy all activity posts and peer reviews in a separate document so that when you do the participation form copy/pasting is so much more convenient. The note taking will come in very handy if you actually become a content writer, or other content volunteer. Quick and easy access to look back on. Also, the Time Management Course did have an effect on me. I have taken some of its teaching into my methods of planning out my day and it will be very helpful with college starting back up here soon. It is definitely not a waste of time. But if you do it take good notes because they are handy for the test. I've learned so much valuable information that has affected some college course decisions as well.Β

Hi, @ThoughtLight

Awesome, congratulations for completing the coursework and further practical experience portions; you did well! Brownie points for finishing ahead of schedule, too. All the best for your first article. πŸ’™

You can find honours options here:Β

It's amazing how you improve and learn to enjoy graphic creating. πŸ₯° Super proud of you!

Oh, I enjoyed the Time Management Course as well and still reference my notes from the course. I'm glad you find it effective.

@SilverSeastar the time management course is even more helpful due to college starting back up this fall and all I need to do. I'm anxious to get the article topic approval and the growth path topic approval. It's been a while since I submitted. Thank you so much for your support. It really made my day.Β

@ouiCherie

This is my first week in the program.

The last discussion I completed was Team Lightship: Tweeting Empathy.

What I really struggled with first time around was to know what CDM was exactly about, before applying to it, and before reading the first discussion. I think it would be helpful to add more information in the Academy program description, so that members could know how exciting and interesting the program is, and how valuable the skills it teaches.

What went well is the flow of completing the discussions, the activities and the tasks required. Mainly due to their simplicity and the very good explanation provided in the discussions. : )

Well things are almost all done. I have completed the practical electives. And recently got the article title approval. Secured an expert quote yesterday from a professional therapist. All now is to fine tune my outline and then writing the article will be a smooth process. At my point right now the best advice I have to give is to take time with your outline for your article. It is the skeleton of it and the more specifics put on the outline will make writing the article a breeze. I have learned this numerous times over the years.Β

Week 3: I have started my first 2 discussions of Coursework 2 (Discussions 5&6), and I am super proud of the small paragraph I wrote in the activity section. This has given me motivation to work onwards and keep up. What I do recommend people is to take this coursework seriously and do their best, even though it is just a practice, so that they can make sure they learn effectively and keep in mind the skills they have just learned.
