CDM Progress Report
Hi CDM Trainees,
This thread serves as progress reports for CDM Program.
We would love to hear how you are doing!
Each week, we would like you to reply to this thread answering the following three questions:
- Which discussion was the last you completed?
- What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
- What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.
If you require support, please let us know and we'll reach out to you.
Week 9 completed.
Which discussion was the last you completed?
I've completed all of them, and now I'm exploring the Further Practical Experience. I would probably consider the honors as well.
What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right for the first time around?
There's an option for Further Practical Experience that interests me, but it's something new. So I'm still exploring it to learn more.
What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help other.
Cheers to all the mentors who did an amazing job supporting me and my questions. Just remember to reach out to them when you have trouble.
@ouiCherie
- Which discussion was the last one you completed? 2-4, 1 on the first week
- What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around? The Tweeting empathy topic, didn't get the memo
- What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others. Don't give up. I reapplied again after dropping out the first time.
@ouiCherie
Which discussion was the last you completed?
I completed the first 2 discussions that were supposed to be completed for the first trial week.
What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
Since it was quite easy, I don't think I struggled with anything as of now..
What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.
The first 2 discussions went pretty well for me as they were easy. The tip that I find helpful is that people are helpful here and we can get help anytime we need while training through this program.
I realized that I'm behind in this course but I think I can finish it if I get an extension. I'm working on discussion #9. I've already written a draft of my article but I need to get it approved (plus do the two optional activities). I'm thinking of making a growth path and writing a second article for my extra activities (the optional ones).
My recommendation to future trainees...Bookmark important pages about this course and put them in a bookmark folder on your browser. Revisit the important pages often, especially these two:
Good luck to all and wish me luck that I can finish the course.
@walkalot
Here's wishing you the VERY best of luck that you finish! πΉ

@ouiCherie
I'm embarrassed at how late I am. I knew to post to this thread each week, but what I didn't know was that we are supposed to post every Monday and I also didn't know how to find it.
On top
of that, life's been so chaotic and crazy that, believe it or not, all
of this week rolled into one day, and unfortunately that day was NOT a
Monday. π π
But here I am finally!

Which discussion was the last you completed?
The last one I completed was Discussion 2. I'm working on Discussion 3 as we speak. (I'm a little behind, but I'm hoping to still catch up by Monday.)
-
What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
I think the only thing I struggled at all with was my own self-confidence. Also, I didn't get any feedback on my submission for Discussion 2, but it wasn't turned in late, that I'm aware of. No feedback made Discussion 3 a little more challenging, but I think I'm muddling through okay.

I gave myself two days to do each discussion activity, and a third day to submit it. This worked really, really well the first week, and has been a pretty big help this week, too, even though this week only had one day for me, and I'm a little behind.
But what I'd really like to suggest is blocking out a reasonable schedule for the activities, as it helps remind you, and you don't feel as pressured. Things also just tend to go smoother, because you're not feeling rushed when you have a set schedule.
Additionally, walkalot suggested to bookmark all pertinent pages, and noted the following two in particular:
CDM Program Overview & Requirements List
and
CDM Academy Program Step-By-Step Walkthrough
I would like to add this Progress Report thread as well as the
CDM Academy Program Recommended Deadlines
page to those suggestions, thanks. Of course, there are many others as well.

Almost everything went well I would say..
@starsnnights
Hi StarsnNights, did you do the trial completion form?
Hey, yes i did submit that form
@ouiCherieSorry for being late, I had serious mental health issues these past two weeks, so I couldn't concentrate. I have BPD and Bipolar.
I am meeting all other deadlines for sure until July. I am feeling better.
I have to say this program is pretty intense. I just finished all of the coursework activities and I submitted the coursework completion form. It's long. Anyway, I'm moving along. Hope to have another good update soon. How I'm going to do the coursework completion quiz.
@ouiCherie
- Which discussion was the last you completed?
Number nine.
- What are some things you struggled with or didn't quite get right the first time around?
How to make the article less formal and more empathetic.
- What went well? Share some tips you find helpful to help others.
Still able to do everything on time. I recommend that you all take 12 weeks to complete the course, you can rest and still meet the deadlines that way.
@ouiCherie
I am on Discussion 5.
First five discussions are quite easy and interesting.
